Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO – OLLANTAYTAMBO – SANTA MARIA – HYDROELECTRIC
Our meeting point is 7 am to move to ollantaytambo travel time 1 hour with 30 minutes along the way we will appreciate the populations of chincheros and Urubamba and its river Vilcanota attractions of the beautiful sacred valley. Once we are in ollantaytambo we will make a 20 minute stop to use toilet services and also pick up passengers to board the bus. After our small stop we will continue our journey ascending towards the Malaga pass located at an altitude of 4330 meters above sea level at the foot of the mountain waqay huillca from where we can observe the valley that Quillabamba known as the jungle of Cusco, from where we will descend to the town of Santa María where we will also have a moderate time for lunch and go to the hygienic services, santa maría is at an altitude of 1490 meters above sea level, thus being the lowest place in our journey.
From where you can see plantations of banana, mango, coca, cacoa and also the real organic coffee. And the road will be dust . Santa Teresa is where the hot springs of Cocalmayo are located. about 30 more minutes and we will conclude with our trip; by bus, we will arrive at a hydroelectric plant from where it is a 3-hour walk to the town of Machupicchu, 11 kilometers in a straight line on the side of the rail. Once arriving at the village of Machupicchu we will settle into a lodging and the accommodation is from 2 to 3 people per room (double and single with previous reservation).
A dinner in one of the traditional restaurants of the place where we will coordinate the time of visit to the citadel of Machu Picchu.
DAY 2: MACHUPICCHU – HIDROELECTRICA – SANTA MARIA – CUSCO.
It is the most important day of your life where you will arrive at your destination MachuPicchu where you will have a tour of 1.30 hours and thus be able to visit the entire citadel to then descend to the ruins bridge and again walk back to hydroelectric for 2.30 or so. Take the bus after a long journey but fully rewarded and back to Cusco
MORNING WALK: half hour flat and one hour pure stairs 1700 steps from the PUENTE RUINAS to Machupicchu.
Back from Machupicchu to bridge 45m. downhill and other 2.30 flat until hydroelectric from where it will take buss to cusco
